신화도상의 기호작용에 관한 연구 : 사위기대의 기호작용을 중심으로
신화가 지닌 장엄한, 때로는 숭고한 신적 서사성 같은 종교적 상징성이 응집된 회화, 조각, 건축 등의 예술 매체로의 표현은 신화 도상을 기호학적으로 해독할 수 있는 토대가 되었다. 신화도상의 의미작용을 하나의 기호작용으로 판단하고, 이것을 모델화해 해석하는 작업이 바로 도상기호적 연구이다. 『통일사상요강』 에 제시된 “수수작용과 사위기대 모델(도식 4)”은 창조주에 의한 “창조의 2단 과정”을 설명하는 것임과 동시에 “인간 내면에서 일어나는 추상적인 사고의 과정이나 행위에 이르기까지의 과정”을 설명하기 위한 모델이다. 본 고는 사위기대의 각 위(位)를 각각 기호들 간에 수수작용으로 보고, 이 사위기대모델을 응 용하여 “창작과 감상을 위한 사위기대모델(도식 9)”로 구축, 이 모델에 단군신화의 주인공과 그 서사를 시각화한 신화도상들에 적용시켜 신화 주인공들의 평화실현 원 리를 기호학적으로 해석하는 것을 연구목적으로 한다. 단군신화에 담긴 본질적 평화실현 원칙에 관한 “존재-행위 신화도상”의 기호작용 을 『통일사상요강』 ｢예술론｣에 제시된 <도식 6> 창작의 2단구조, <도식 7> 통일주 의의 창작양식과 <도식 8> 미적 판단과 인식 같은 예술창작과 감상을 위한 사위기대 모델로 통합시켜 <도표 9> 창작과 감상을 위한 사위기대모델로 구축, 신화도상의 발화작용을 평화를 실현하는 의미작용으로 해석하였다. 특히 “단군신화”에 등장하는 천신(天神)과 천신의 아들 그리고 인신(人神)인 단 군까지 세 분의 존재·행위도상으로의 형상화는 일종의 로고스와 파토스의 교호(交 互)작용을 일으켜 하늘의 뜻과 이상, 즉 환인의 뜻이었던 홍익인간, 재세이화, 이도 여치, 광명이세 같은 평화사상의 실천의지를 전달한다. 신화도상(초상화)의 대표적 성상적 표현기호인 기운생동(氣運生動)한 시각적 표현기호(형상적 표현기호)들은 창작자와 감상자 간의 수수(授受)작용을 일으켜 감상자에게 종교적 교훈과 사상적 교훈을 얻도록 만든다.
A Study on the Semiotics Action of Mythology-Icon : Centering on Semiotics Action of Four-Position Base
The expression of myth in art media such as painting, sculpture, and architecture, which combines religious symbols, such as majestic, sometimes sublime divine narratives, became the basis for semiotically deciphering the relationship between myth and icon. The tangible culturalization of myths paved the way for iconographic interpretation of narrative symbols. The work of judging and interpreting the semantic action of mythological-icon as a symbolic action is an iconographic semiotics study. The “Give-and-Receive Action and Four-Position Base(Fig.4)” presented in the “Unification Thought” is an explanation of the “two-step process of creation” by the Creator and also a model to explain “the process of abstract thinking or behavior that occurs inside humans.” The purpose of the study is to interpret the principle of peace realization of myth subjects by seeing each of the positions as Give-and-Receive Action of between each symbol, applying this Give-and-Receive Action Model to build a “Give-and-Recive Action Model for creation and appreciation(Fig.9)” and applying it to the mythological figures who visualize the main character of the Dangun Myth, and its narrative. The symbolic action of “existence-action mythological icon” on essential peace realization principles in Dangun mythology was integrated into a two-stage structure of creation, creation style of unificationism, and a Give-and-Receive Action and Four-Position Base modle for art creation such as aesthetic judgment and recognition, interpreting the interaction between symbols symbolizing the realization of peace inherent in mythological iconography and deriving its meaning. The existence and behavior icon of the three gods, especially the heavenly God, the son of the heavenly god, and the human god Dangun appearing in “the Myth of Dangun,” creates a kind of interaction between Logos and Pathos, conveying the implications of the will of the ideal of Heavenly God, such as “To broadly benefit the human world”, “Wake up and change where you are”, “Rule this world by virtue”, and “Enlighten the world with enlightenment”, which is the will of the action. “a vivid drawing of a character’s spirit” which are the representative Sungsang’s expression as the sign of mythological-icon, cause interaction between the creator and the viewer to learn religious and ideological lessons.
