It is widely believed that the core problem of the “failure of democracy” lies in the electoral system. The election has been regarded as a symbol of democracy since it is called the “flower of democracy.” Today almost every country in the world adopts a representative system and elects representatives by voting. The current voting system shows a crisis of representativeness and does not properly embody the ideology of democracy. The reform of the electoral system is a key agenda of national political reform. In order for the electoral system, which is advocated by the principle of mutual prosperity, to become a political system in the future, it must first be a tool for reforming irrational realities. This study examines whether the electoral system of the principle of mutual prosperity is an alternative to the voting system. The electoral system of the principle of mutual prosperity is a mixture of recommendation, voting and sortition. It can secure virtuous and trustworthy candidates through recommendation. It is efficient because it can elect competent people through voting. And it is possible to obtain a representativeness through sortition. Democracy has been polluted by abuse of freedom. The electoral system of the principle of mutual prosperity eliminates the desire for private interests, so it can fully realize the original meaning of election by which public figures are elected. The vocation of a public official elected by God’s Will is the basis for overcoming private interests and collective selfishness and realizing true meaning of democracy.
